…often get asked how long a set of brake pads should last.  Brake pad wear varies widely and is dependant on the rider, conditions and braking tendencies/preferences.  We thought that it may be helpful to show you some pads that are new, worn, past worn and extremely past worn (left to right).  Replace your pads when between 1/2 and 1/3 of the original braking material is left on them.  Ask your local shop what a pad looks like after they install a new one so that you have some frame of refernece to determine how worn your pads have become.  We wish you happy, safe, and spark-free braking.
